ADHD assessments are thorough specialist evaluations that require several steps to ensure an accurate diagnosis and personalised care plan. These assessments are not bulk billed. Our reception team can provide full details about fees, Medicare rebates, and out-of-pocket costs.

Overview of the Assessment Process
1. Initial Consultations
The process begins with up to two sessions to discuss your symptoms, background, and any other conditions that may resemble ADHD.
2. Parent or Carer Input
As ADHD begins in childhood, information from a parent or caregiver who knew you growing up is essential.
• The assessment cannot continue without this information.
• If available, please bring school reports to support the evaluation.
3. Further Psychological Testing (if required)
In some cases, you may be referred for a computer-based attention assessment (TOVA) with a psychologist to gain additional insight into concentration patterns and guide treatment planning.
4. Diagnostic Review
Once all information is gathered, a final review session will take place.
• At this stage, a diagnosis will be either confirmed or excluded.
• If confirmed, Dr Asha and her team will develop a treatment and management plan that may include:
• Suitable medication options
• Necessary medical tests (blood tests, ECG, urine screening)
• Physical examination if indicated
• Ongoing follow-up scheduling
5. Treatment and Monitoring
Treatment begins once all assessments and investigations are complete.
• During the medication adjustment phase, short follow-up appointments about 15 to 30 minutes to monitor response and side effects.
• Scripts are renewed only during these reviews.
6. Ongoing Care
When treatment is stable, reviews are scheduled at longer intervals
Medication renewals require face-to-face reviews.
